Jennifer Leeper
JENNIFER LEEPER’S regional destiny transplanted her before she could master a Boston accent in her birthplace of Concord, Massachusetts to the Midwest—more precisely to Kansas
City. Jennifer grew up to love words and began writing short fiction and poetry in middle school. By college, this love took on the shape of a Journalism degree and reporting and freelance stints at various newspapers and other publications. Eventually, Jennifer
gave in to the siren call of advertising as many creatives do and she became a
copywriter, all the while honing her fiction writing craft.
About 13 years ago, Jennifer began her first serious foray into publishing. Jennifer published adult short fiction in anthologies, along with a novella – in literary and genre fiction, as well as a collection of short stories. After Jennifer and her husband adopted their first son in 2015, she became immersed in the world of picture book reading. She
found that she couldn’t resist another siren call—this time a call to pursue her own picture book storytelling.
When she’s not writing or collecting writing inspiration out in the world, Jennifer can be found “sauntering,” as John Muir, the iconic naturalist and author liked to say, in the mountains whenever she can get away to her beloved peaks in Colorado.
