Angela C. Hawkins
The arts are embedded in Angela’s DNA. In addition to wielding pencils and markers since she was as small as her characters, Angela has studied violin, piano, voice, and ballet. Originally from California, Angela has also lived in Belgium, the Netherlands, Utah, Arkansas, Michigan, Arizona, and Colorado. After graduating from BYU in 2003, Angela began submitting stories, articles, and activities—and publication soon followed. An itch to perfect her illustration skills has led to success there too. In addition to writing and illustrating (and raising two delightful boys), Angela teaches music lessons and is an active member of her church, working beside women and teenage girls in that community.
Above all, Angela loves our world and the beautiful people in it. She hopes her work will inspire children to ask thoughtful questions, take another look, be a little kinder, and to smile even more.
